Meet Souhela, founder of Fields of Yarrow

Based in Bali, Fields of Yarrow is an organic and natural skincare line which believes in quality over quantity. The brand uses the magical ingredients found in the Indonesian archipelago, hand picked for their unique benefits to your skin. 

WHAT’S YOUR NAME & WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

My name is Souhela and I am from Marseille, France.

WHEN & WHY DID YOU START WORKING IN HOSPITALITY?

I created Fields of Yarrow in my dreams many years ago and launched about 5 years ago. I wanted to create something out of a true passion, a skincare brand designed to be experienced rather than applied. 

HOW DO YOU LOCALLY SOURCE YOUR PLANTS & FLOWERS?

Our team travels around the Indonesian Archipelago to meet small farmers of plants and flowers for our products. We make sure only local farming end up in our bottles. 

We recently wanted to be the change and started our own farm here in Bali, growing flowers, plants and herbs we love. 

HOW DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR BRAND BEING RESPONSIBLE? 

We are a small batch company, meaning we only produce what’s needed. Mass-producing is not in our core values. 

We use glass bottles packaging and our paper boxes are made from recycled paper. We also plant trees for each order we receive and are always looking for new ways to become more and more responsible every year.

THE NEW ULUWATU SPACE LOOKS VERY GOOD, WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN?

Thank you! A few months ago, we gave a fresh look to our branding and with our Uluwatu location, we wanted to design something that matches perfectly our brand’s vibe. 

We wanted to create a warm and feminine space that is also classic and simple. We also offer our most loved facial treatments in a secret room behind the shop.

WHAT DOES THIS NEW SPACE MEAN TO YOU?

It means everything. Each shop is a step further, a new achievement and I am so grateful for everyone that supports us. 

I truly love human relationship and I prefer to be in front of a person rather than a computer when it comes to selling my products. I also believe that a skincare brand is so much more than an online experience. It is important to try and feel the products in a beautiful space.
